But there remains sentience, we must have that else how did we get here. When the capacity to feel, perceive, or experience subjectively goes -- when that goes -- we'll really be in trouble... and it's a day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute struggle anymore... but sentience (as we recall when we experience it, even a bit) requires certain things of us, principally respect and care.
