"Psyche's clear lake..."

.

Psyche’s clear lake riverhood shining looking glass cold

Mirrored my life back up to me from the depths of that hollow bowl

Where the gulf sky is separated from the gulf by a thin blue line

In the hollow bowl her body makes intersected by mine

By biological predetermination the ancient Egyptian

Word for kiss was derived from the verb to eat

A memory that vibrates long after the string is plucked

Creating a note sustained by the reverberating of her body

  2. Tom, it is a pleasure and an honour to colaborate with your delicious poems by providing the photographs. This time, tough, the beauty of your words do not need the picture at all. They take us to a dreamed-of scenery in our imagination.

  3. Lucy,

I appreciate your (rare) modesty, but must politely disagree: here, as in all my posts, I do hope (and believe) that the dialogue between image and word is everything. Neither side alone can do what the parts can do together, once their conversation begins. (I think of that old saying which will probably seem funny to you--"It takes two to tango".)

  4. :D Great phrase. I will leave modesty aside. Let's tango, then!

  5. You can haunt any house by yourself
Be a man or a mouse by yourself
You can act like a king on a throne
There are lots of things that you can do alone
    But it takes

    Two to Tango

  6. what a pity i cannot see Lucy's photo here... to hear the dialog btween the image and the words...

though the words and the way they gracefully dance can tell about the image too...

so when we kiss, we want to eat... to make that thing our own... not to depart from it, eh?

loved this cosmic kiss of yang and yin...

  7. I can not see the picture either, maybe you can fix it.
Anyway great text, I was thinking that if she bathed with milk they could perfectly give kissing a thing to eat name.

  8. Thank you Mariana and human being.

But I'm distressed to hear you're not seeing the picture. HB, I know you have problems with these things. But Mariana, it should be coming through to you in BA. I can see it, but if anyone else out there can't (or for that matter if you can), please do let me know. Thanks.

M & HB: Think of a deep blue lake in the Andes at twilight with clouds looming overhead. yet with a quiet tranqulity of light ("Psyche's clear lake riverhood...") shining through all and illuminating everything.
