Tom,
ReplyDeleteThe tyres under piles of snow look like sugar doughnuts..i'll have a coffee with those now..time to eat and enjoy the chill, that is found beyond the pale
It's like walking in, without expecting to, to a gallery show of photography by an artist you aren't familiar with, which has been curated to tell a coherent story and presents the artist to his best advantage. But it's also like reading a novel about a place that has familiar aspects, but is also unfamiliar and shown to have dramatically unexpected qualities. In any event, it's curious that while some things don't go down on the web as well or intensely as "live," in-person presentation, this seems totally live and in person. And actually not dissimilar to what I see outside my window on Monday, December 23rd, in the mood I'm in. I think Wade Harris is quite an artist. Curtis

Beautiful!!
Precipitation here for days now is of the liquid sort: low, grim skies without the pretty white stuff . . . and record high temperatures.
ReplyDeleteNot much Cherokee left in Cherokee Yard. Language becomes a ghost of meanings past.
from when I lived in Buffalo
ReplyDeleteWhite nights are bright nights
Snowflakes slant through street lights and
Muffle my footsteps
I've been haunted by the arresting silence of these images, for some nights now, here in the dark house.
ReplyDeleteHazen's comment has me hearing ghosts moving like slow switchyard trains through those unheard words.
Thank you all so much for the kind remarks about my photographs. They are greatly appreciated.
