Petra László, who worked for N1TV and had reported links to nationalist political party Jobbik, put her leg out in front of, first, a man clutching a young child, and then a girl, causing them to trip over. After footage of the incident was uploaded to Twitter by a German reporter, N1TV confirmed that it had dismissed Ms László due to “unacceptable behaviour”: image by Stephan Richter via the Independent, 8 September 2015

This is the year which people will talk about.
This is the year which people will be silent about.

The old see the young die.
The foolish see the wise die.

The earth no longer produces, it devours.
The sky hurls down no rain, only iron.

Bertot Brecht (1898-1956): "This is the year which people will talk about", from In Finland (In Finnland), 1940, translated by Sammy McLean in Bertolt Brecht: Poems 1913-1956, ed. John Willett and Ralph Manheim, 1976

  1. Tom,

I can't imagine how people get into professions, where ideally, you're required to keep yourself steady (in your head and on your legs). What a sorry image. Can we not for once, stop tripping over our own feet?

  2. That strip of light in the Syrian dustcloud; a fearful sign of life.

Talk or don't talk. The maw gapes.

  3. She's said she lost her head for a moment.

    She didn't say when.

The two adroit fibula kicks within the instant, bringing down three runners, suggests training, very likely on a football pitch, where, in fact, those kicked might well be equipped with shin pads.

A bit of a stretch to include those in your plastic-protected essentials kit when crossing the water on the rubber raft. Laser pens, with the LED lights, for instance, seem to come in handier, and thus are preferred.

The signs of life and the signs of death, horribly intermingled.

As for the Great Cloud of Dust... The false prophet bestseller pastor-authors who last year about this time and/or the year before, if not both, was it, came out with the book (books?) relating the Blood Moon (due soon in your town!!) to biblical prognostication of Doomsday, are hard at it again, I see.

One of these years they're going to be in too late, with that.
