In a timeless world, as autumn comes

In a timeless world
the pale light beneath the pines
never changes

In a timeless world
moonlight always scatters
its stars upon the earth

In a timeless world
every sunset is worth
an aurora borealis

In a timeless world
there is no backstory
images have no depth

In a timeless world
the light beneath the pines
will never fade

In a timeless world
the sun will never finish
its slow going down

In a timeless world
the moon will always scatter
its stars upon the earth

Nothing will ever have depth
nothing ever lose its colour
fall apart

or grow old

Tjinder Singh / Cornershop: Brimful of Asha on the 45 ("Let me join amongst many uploads of the 90's Cornershop hit single about our talented musical lady Asha Bhosle -- most of the uploads by non Indians don't know what the song is about. It is about India's preoccupation with Bollywood and its music. 'We don't care about no government warning and the dams they are building'...")

    There's dancing behind movie scenes,
Behind those movie screens -- "Saddi Rani".

She's the one that keeps the dream alive,
From the morning, past the evening, till the end of the light.

Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five

    And singing
Illuminate the main streets and the cinema aisles.
We don't care about no government warning...

Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow; mine's on the RPM...

  3. Great to get a flashback to 'Brimful of Asha' on Top of the Pops and in every shop - one of those moments when you can tell yourself that everyone's thinking hey, this multicultural thing's alright, isn't it? It's nice while it lasts. Illuminate those main streets!

  7. You have the lure that old illusion set out perfectly. It is a beautiful poem.

And that feeling of walking through pine woods; I'm always unnerved by it.

Cornershop are the business. Good to hear Topknot again.

  8. A week otherwise bewildering and fringed with shrunken lilliputian subjective boneconscious dread and embarrassing all-fall-apart weakling confusion bred of stumbling into the shadowlands at the borders of the amerikan healthcare delusion system... nonetheless a paratactically happy one here in that these comments reminded of the kindness of friends, undeserved yet for all that appreciated the more... as we batten down for the hurricanes.
