             If I had my way I'd sit and watch

        the gray and poundy waves all day...

           The candle lights for Cypress

       must be down at the Channel now

   where the tide rushes out

 from the lagoon and keeps on going out

way out... remember?

                                           now the evening sky

                             looks pretty clear

                                                               that

                           was a history

                       just happened

Red-breasted Merganser male. The Red-breasted merganser likes brackish coastal water, so it is seen far less often inland. It is more cresty than the Common Merganser, and has color in the breast.Taken at Bolinas Lagoon, where the mergansers like to forage in the deeper channels along with the cormorants while the egrets wait along the sides of the channels for the fish trying to escape.: photo by Len Blumin, 12 April 2005
