White Dwarf, definitely one of my Holy Joe Top 100!
ReplyDeleteIt brought me to tears reading it here, Tom. I'm off to work with the beauty, brightness and filth of the world running through my veins.
ReplyDeleteDuncan, a fair share of the JC poems I've posted have done that to me as well, as, long before, the poems when first writ and sent along or published had done, in that other century - and as they are still doing now. And/but I'm not even off to any sort of work or anything any more!
ReplyDeleteThe way the lovely diminuendo ending, here, sneaks up on the cosmic Ineffable and Inexpressible, by the back door, so to speak, before disappearing it into the large darkness whence all came, for example.
