Joseph Ceravolo: Feast of Visions
Instead it's that one damn spot
on the stained glass walls
of Mexico that looks like a man
wading his way in mud or water.
Seizure! blue wailing
questionnaires of noonday
under the rotting trees.
Gracias mis amigos,
the river has much mud
and he works for el gobierno
de Mexico
guarding trees,
riding a bicycle.
Oh mean women beating sheep,
sweep the dog shit
of three thousand dogs and niños
from your two foot sidewalks.
Tomorrow the fiesta
and mucho people
walk and see sun in river,
and cross over new
modern bridge made of pipes.
Ah, the dark eyes that
penetrate all the edificios
on the avenue.
The fiesta's fine, it
makes everyone think
that everything's just right.Joseph Ceravolo (1934-1988): Feast of Visions, Iztacalco, Mexico City, Fall 1960, from Transmigration Solo (1960-1965), in Collected Poems (2012)

Donald Trump has drawn fresh scorn for attacking Montenegro, whose people he described as “very aggressive”, suggesting the small nation could be the cause of a third world war.
Days after a widely-criticised summit with his Russian counterpart, Trump’s comments were decried as a “gift to Putin”.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump also called into question Nato’s
founding principle. He was asked about Article 5, Nato’s common defence
clause which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all.
“Why should my son go to Montenegro to defend it from attack?” Fox host Tucker Carlson asked.
Trump responded: “I understand what you’re saying. I’ve asked the same question.”
“Montenegro is a tiny country with very strong people ... They’re
very aggressive people. They may get aggressive, and congratulations,
you’re in world war three,” he added.
'Me first, loser!' he said. 'Congratulations, out of the way, I'm doing a great job, I love Israel as much as Pooty does, you'll see, you're fired, you're in world war three!'

Boy howdy we about to git some we comin for you montenegro! we have way more head injuries per capita than you guys could ever hope to have suckers!
ReplyDeleteUniversity of North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora was talking about that just the other day as we strolled down head injury no memory lane, on campus. Larry believes the rule changes implemented in recent years to limit head injuries and make football less violent are going to have grave consequences for the sport and America’s military.
“Our game is under attack,” Fedora said on Wednesday at the ACC’s preseason media day in Greensboro. “I fear that the game will get pushed so far to one extreme and then our most sacred institutions, like head injuries, will be reduced to the degree that you won’t have as much impact violence 10 years from now. And I do believe that if it gets to that point, that our country goes down, too.”
