Fogbound Birds

.

File:White-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta carolinensis)3 -on branch.jpg

Moon hidden by clouds 2 by greenelfmom.

The moon appears through clouds between fingers of cypress
Dry leaves drift and blow over blue sand
A heavy curtain opens upon fogbound birds
The leaden clouds trail past unconcerned
And a low pressing voice in the wind
Disturbs the variable calm of the summer night
Drowning out the words to which the moon would have wished to listen

Ah, my sister The Moon, watches all. Thank you for the beautiful birds and words..I especially liked "...The leaden clouds trail past unconcerned..." as it feels so true. Cheers!
