5 P.M.

.

File:Mimus polyglottos1.jpg

A seam opens
in the traffic
flow I
hear this
mockingbird in my
backyard
and when it's gone
Satie
played by
Shearing
on an antique FM
drifting
down through yellow plum
leaves
against the blue rush
hour sky

I think that Satie goes very well with your later Elephant post, too...

Lovely poem, and the mockingbird photo is amazingly good.

Zeph,

The bird is pretty common here, and a lovely, confident, varied, constant singer.
