Joseph Ceravolo: Doubts

The more along you are the more

there's no ways things of passion,
the floral humanness, can stop.

Love speeds in, struggles
in beautied temptations.

Quacks
of ducks are planed, are falling.

Are you going to hold me
or is a visionary of Spring

also coming

to take you away from me?

Joseph Ceravolo (1934-1988): Doubts, from Spring in This World of Poor Mutts (1968)

I love your response to Joe.

The truth would seem to show up strongest - mottled, bloated and immovable - when we're at the deeper points of suffering.

Yes. I hadn't seen that, but of course.

More arggghhh than argument here.

The shape of it, writhing inside the sack there in the corner, does fit that account. Let us talk softly so as not to let it know we're about. The only way.

The Platters: Smoke gets in your eyes

Joseph knew about this. Strange and great is Egypt.
