This note was one of a stack left in a box used by neighbours as a book exchange.
A stapled seven-page single-space text was attached: a copious compendium of sermons, links, reading lists, you tube lectures, and the like, all devoted to End Times, now well under way, according to all this literature. Unreadable ravings of course. But the opening sentence did stick in my gaping fossil craw.
All around the world, people of all religions are seeing Jesus - in visitations, in dreams, in near death experiences.
It took me the better part of twenty-four hours to recognise what was really troubling me about this message.
PLEASE READ AND PASS ON

was the admonitory tone of that last line of the heading instruction.
I was being told to read the document, and then to "PASS ON". That is, die. And I was being told this With Care And Love.
