Glory is that bright tragic thing
That for an instant
Means Dominion --
Warms some poor name
That never felt the Sun,
Gently replacing
In oblivion --
That for an instant
Means Dominion --
Warms some poor name
That never felt the Sun,
Gently replacing
In oblivion --

Tom,
"Sun,
Gently replacing
In oblivion --"
( "This morning so far") ---
3.3
pink orange edges of cloud in blue white
sky above ridge, robin calling on branch
in foreground, sound of waves in channel
‘explain’ the past in terms
of, path of phenomena
under following, appearance
of an object, element
grey rain cloud against invisible ridge,
whiteness of gull gliding above channel
Steve,
pink orange edges of cloud in blue
fits the morning...
with more dark storm clouds massing offshore.
... but not to worry, the weather's always fine Over in the Glory Land.
Tom,
Thanks for note on "Over in the Glory Land," meanwhile another "This morning so far" over here ---
3.4
blackness of sky above still black plane
of ridge, star next to black pine branch
in foreground, sound of waves in channel
what can another be, within
considering of things
its reflection side by side,
with, rows of windows
white cloud in pale blue sky above ridge,
whiteness of gull circling above channel
Great poem (re)written in pink thoroughly.
ps-A completely personal emotion but I believe this poem is extremely inline with Do you know what excellence .. (Little Elegy for James Dean)
Aditya,
Yes, I can feel that, and too, when it comes to emotion, how can we ever know
what can another be, within
... and Steve, the birds have awakened, and I can almost make out a bit of glory land in
white cloud in pale blue sky above
