The Allée d'Argenson

Every afternoon at five, Diderot
Went for a stroll in the Palais-Royal.
He was seen alone there meditating
By a giddy-looking young girl, or
Was it Diderot himself who looked giddy.

Yet it's said people stop here to this day.
