Learn to recognize the point of equilibrium, where all the unresolved elements in the composition seem to hang in the balance. On this point of not-knowing, of uncertainty, of irresolution, pause. Put the thing down. Do something else for a while. When you come back, pretend to be doing something else for a while. Then actually do something else.
Is that smoke?
Is it me, or does the sun have a strange apocalyptic hue this morning?

Miriam keeps saying
we are living in End Times
Tom Pacheco left a telephone message the other day.
He said, “I just want to say one thing—
It seems like we’re living
in the Ends of Time now
There’s a sense of apocalypse
that so many people are feeling—
from the fires in California,
the hurricanes, an insane man
as president who seems like he is
going to blow his top
& take the world with him.
“It’s a horrible time all over the world.
It’s really scarey. It’s dangerous times,
I sense it every where I go,”
said Tom Pacheco
We are living in End Times
We are living in End Times
We are living in End Times
o Lord
So much cruelty & violence
So much chaos & shackles
So much warfare & killing
Too Much Too Much Too Much Too Much
o Lord

How much human is still in us humans?
The fact that there are people who need to procure food for survival in
the rubbish of our prosperity is a sad certainty. But
how deep we are sunk that we watch idly that this struggle for survival
is taking place in the midst of densely populated cities? Is it not our
damn duty and obligation, no matter which nation, to prevent this and
to help? Anyone who can look at such scenes without guilty feelings can
not call himself a "human".: photo by Carsten Osterwald, 7 June 2017

Drugs all over the world.
I stood on a bridge and waited.
He asked me for fire.
I asked him if I could photograph him. He nodded.
He lit his self-made drug whistle, tipped after 2 moves to the side and sank into nowhere.
