Suns rage
And suns rage,
Days want sun,
Sun wants bright,
Night wants shade,
Dead queens graves,
Down I sat,
I sat down,
There I sat,
I sat there,
Straight I saw,
I saw straight,
I did look,
Look did I,
Bright they were,
They were bright,
Still I gazed,
I gazed still,
Two stars then,
Then two stars,
Appeared there,
There appeared,
Eyes she had,
She had eyes,
This was she,
She was this,
Suns rage
And suns rage,
Days want sun,
Sun wants bright,
Night wants shade,
Drank Kool-Aid,
Down sat,
Sat down,
There sat,
Sat there,
Straight saw,
Saw straight,
Did look,
Look did I,
Bright they were,
They were bright,
Still I gazed,
I gazed still,
Two stars then,
Then two stars,
Appeared there,
There appeared,
Eyes she had,
She had eyes,
This was she,
She was this.

Terrific poem , Tom, with a Blakean groove.

Haunting poem, poem haunting. Your collections of photos - I have no idea where you get all of them - are like secret news of the day - also, day of the news secret.

Thanks very much, Terry and Hilton, this is kindness.

A bit of hopefully innocuous regressiveness edging into or decorating the margins of a jolting present...

The Kool-Aid bit caused a minor stir here in the assisted living rehearsal zone, but oblivion heals all, soon enough, or in the end, one hopes.

Hilton, I never know where I am going to find the pictures, either, but on any given day now, the impossibility of forgetting it's a huge world full of all sorts of things that matter to all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons, everybody's reasons at least as pressing as we think our own to be, pretty much drives me nuts. There's no language for articulating that, of course. So I fumble with this picture language. The one great advantage of visual storytelling is that everybody who looks gets to make up their own story, and the fact that there's no controlling how other people put together their stories for themselves turns out to be, at the same time, both occasionally frustrating (the arrangement seeming senseless to some if not to many), but always a great relief, as I don't want to make up anybody's worlds or minds, really... being of course nothing more than a silly old fool.

Thank you, Michael. In taxonomy, poetry.
